Calcutta born, Bangalore fine tuned, New York adopted — via Colorado and New Jersey. Moved to the States 11 years ago, found my footing across a few cities, and never looked back — Indian immigrant who traded chowmein at Gariahat for pizza in NYC.

Hi — I'm Arijit. I'm based in Manhattan, NYC, and by day I work as a software developer in test in fintech. Tech and finance are the two things I think about most — how systems are built, how markets move, and occasionally how both go wrong in spectacular ways. Outside work, I engineer something far more interesting: the world itself.

I've always believed the best way to understand a place is to slow down inside it — to eat where the locals eat, take the wrong turn, and stay long enough for the extraordinary to start feeling ordinary.

This blog is my field log. No sponsored stays, no curated reels — just honest accounts of what I saw, what surprised me, and what I'd tell a friend before they went to the same place.

Off the road I'm a fairly normal New Yorker — soaking up the city vibe, soccer weekends, Seinfeld reruns, and occasionally stepping on strangers' shoes on busy sidewalks. Always apologize though. Usually my fault. Sometimes not.
